Charles J. Ferrara, Jr., is Vice President of Corporate and Airport Affairs at Cape Air. In his work at The Cambridge Negotiation Institute, he brings nearly three decades of insight and field experience in negotiation and mediation where he has hammered out airport use and lease agreements on behalf of Cape Air, overseen risk management and corporate security, and built consensus between airport officials, employee groups, management, local, state, and federal agencies as part of Cape Air’s diverse national and international operations. He has brought his considerable listening and creativity skills to myriad conflicts and challenging situations over his distinguished career, including coordinating Cape Air’s response to 9/11 and, most recently, adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic.  As a seasoned aviation professional, Chuck has advised airports and architects on design concepts and construction projects.

As part of his effort to expand his professional horizons, Chuck has added to his vast applied experience and insight by immersing himself in the theory and research of negotiation and dispute resolution. He completed an intensive executive education Negotiation Workshop at the Harvard Faculty Club in the summer of 2019, a mediation certification program for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2018, and is currently a fellow at The Mediation Group in Brookline, MA.  He also has experience working as an organizational consultant and facilitator for faith communities. He currently serves as part of the mediation teaching team at the Boston College Law School and the Suffolk University Law School.

Chuck has earned a BA in Philosophy from St. Joseph Seminary College, an MA in Theology from Boston College, and a JD from the Suffolk University Law School where his studies included coursework on negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.
